Mom and Me Sessions Benefit Breast Cancer Research
If you are new to Photography by Mitzi Mandel, you may not know my mom’s story. The short version is that we lost her to breast cancer six  years ago. My dad has set up a memorial fund in her name through Michigan State University, their Alma Mater. Money donated in her name is used to help find a cure for breast cancer, a disease that has affected most of us in some way. You can read more about my mom and see more Mom and Me portraits by clicking here.

I am thrilled to report that my mom’s memorial fund reached it’s goal of $30,000 and has become a permanent endowment! THANK YOU to everyone who has been a part of that amazing accomplishment! You will never know how much your love and support has meant to me and my family. Even though we have reached our initial goal, there can never be enough funds for breast cancer research.

Mom and Me sessions are $100. The entire session fee will be donated to the Maureen Burrill Memorial Fund for Breast Cancer Research and you will receive a statement for your tax records. As a thank you for your donation, you may choose one of the following:

* two 8×10 portraits
* one 8×10 portrait and a mini album
* $50 off any CD purchase (CDs are priced for mini-sessions)

Saturday, January 28th will be our studio LOVE Letters like we’ve done for the past seven years (WOW!).  Choose from the white or black background for those.

Finally, on January 29th, we are offering super FUN Around the Town Valentine Mini-Sessions.

All Mini-Sessions are $50 and include the creation of cards or storyboards.

Also, anyone who comes to the Valentine’s Day minis this year can take advantage of the following specials:

Framed Storyboard - $225 (save $50)

Unframed Storyboard - $100 (save $50)

Sets of 8 Wallets - $15 (save $5)

Double-Sided Small Postcards - $50 for 25 (only available for Valentine’s Day)

Heart-Shaped Cards - $50 for 25 (only available for Valentine’s Day)

Introducing our newest type of session - Around the Town.  These sessions are on-location natural light shoots but not at the beach or green pretty park.  The location is up to you - your house, downtown, an amusement park, the stable where you keep your horse, the fair, the library, the candy shop.  We will search the location for fun backdrops like brick walls, faded doors, or graffiti.  $150 includes up to 90 minutes of shooting time.  For September only, save $50 on your session and pay only $100 for your sitting fee.

Hello!  I’m sure it seems like I disappeared.  :)  The last month has been jammed - packed with good and bad - everything from the birth of my nephew to Megan’s elementary school graduation to a car accident (everyone is okay).  I sure am ready to hit the beach!
